Privacy Policy

magnetchat is a service of Geoptly Intelligence Inc. ("we", "us") that pairs AI chat with our customers' lead magnets. This policy explains what data we handle and how. Questions: hello@magnetchat.com.

Two roles: our data vs. our customers' data

We handle data in two distinct capacities. For visitors to this website and for people who create magnetchat accounts, we are the data controller. For the people who read and chat with our customers' lead magnets ("leads"), we act as a data processor on behalf of the customer who published that lead magnet — they decide what is collected and why; we process it under their instructions.

Data we collect as a controller

• Account data: name, work email, company, role, and a securely hashed password when you sign up.
• Billing data: handled by Stripe. We never store your card details.
• Usage analytics: we use Google Analytics on this website and PostHog in our product to understand feature usage and improve the service.
• Communications: emails you send us, and transactional email we send you (verification codes, alerts).

Data we process on behalf of customers

When a lead opens a customer's lead magnet, we process on that customer's behalf: the identity the lead provides (name, email, company, phone), their conversation with the AI assistant, campaign parameters (UTM tags), and qualification facts and summaries derived from the conversation. This data belongs to the customer. It may be delivered to the customer's CRM (e.g. HubSpot) and email alerts at their direction. Leads seeking access or deletion should contact the business that published the lead magnet; we support our customers in honoring such requests.

AI processing

Conversations with the assistant are processed by large language models (Google Gemini) to generate answers grounded in the published document and to maintain the lead's qualification summary. Conversation content is not used by us to train models.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for sign-in sessions and for resuming a lead's conversation, and analytics cookies (Google Analytics, PostHog). Lead magnet pages may additionally include the publishing customer's own tracking (e.g. their HubSpot tracking code) when that customer has enabled it — that tracking is governed by the publisher's privacy policy, which is linked on their capture page.

Retention and deletion

Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted on request. Lead data is retained for as long as the owning customer's workspace retains it; customers can delete leads and their conversations at any time, and workspace deletion removes the associated lead data. Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS); data is encrypted at rest by our managed infrastructure providers; access to production systems is limited and credentialed. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we treat your data — and your leads' data — as the product's most sensitive asset.

International transfers

Geoptly Intelligence Inc. is a Canadian company (British Columbia); our service infrastructure is hosted in the United States. By using the service you acknowledge that data is processed in both jurisdictions.

We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Material changes affecting customers will be announced by email.
